Research
Our lab is working on the quality assurance of Rapid Diagnostic Test kits for malaria parasite, recognized by WHO. We are referral laboratory for molecular diagnosis of malaria parasite (P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. malariae, P. ovale and P. knowlesi). Other key research interests are on understanding the liver biology of Plasmodium vivax, development of malaria RDT, molecular markers for diagnosis of dengue, chikungunya and zika.

Dr. Anup Anvikar is MD in Microbiology and has more than 25 years of experience in field as well as lab. He has to his names, over 100 papers in peer reviewd journals. He has developed a model for malaria control in Odisha. His work has also led to improvement in diagnosis and treatment of malaria. His keen interest is to utilise Malaria Elimination Research Alliance (MERA) India, as a tool to wipe out malaria from society.
